High-frequency test probes expand the product family
PTR Messtechnik has expanded its family of test probes: Recently the company has included high-frequency test probes (HF-FK) in its range of products.
High-frequency test probes of the 7860 series are compact, space-saving and solid. As a result they are ideally suited for economically carrying out sensitive measuring tasks involving high-frequencies. Furthermore, their modular construction allows the inner and outer conductors to be changed, since they are arranged coaxially to one another. This arrangement is optimal for the transmission of high-frequency signals because the electromagnetic field that is required to transport the energy is restricted to the area between the inner and outer conductors. The advantage is that electromagnetic emissions and parasitic induction are effectively suppressed.
Specially matched geometric relationships and high precision in manufacture allow the transmission of high-frequency signals with low emissions and losses. For that reason the high-frequency test probes of the 7860 series are matched to suit high-frequency systems with an impedance of 50 Ohms. As the company stated, for that reason the geometry and dimensions of the probe heads of the inner and outer conductors are also designed to suit the relevant test piece.
High-frequency test probes are available both in plug-in and screw-type form for use when subjected to disturbing forces that act axially (vibration, impacts and the like). For both types there are matching receptacles that allow fast and secure installation and can be changed easily.
The HF test probes can also be connected to a test system without any problems: they have a practical connecting bush, permitting quick contact creation through standardised MCX miniature plugs, and without soldering or other complicated procedures. These MCX plugs are available ready assembled with a flexible high-frequency cable of the Multiflex type, at the end of which an SMA cable plug, for example, is connected.

High-current terminal block series 4200 and 4210
PTR Messtechnik has added two more series with time‐saving push‐in technology to its product range.
The AK4200 series is a terminal block with 5.0 / 7.5 mm spacing. It is available as a vertical and horizontal design, i.e. wires can be inserted from above or from the front, as required. Rigid and flexible wire cross‐sections in the terminal block - the latter also with ferrules - up to 2.5 mm² can be securely contacted. Approvals can be provided for currents up to 20 A UL and 24 A VDE.AK4210 is available in a horizontal design for spacings of 7.5 / 11.5 mm and it can be used to create frontal wire insertion solutions. Solid wires up to 10.0 mm² and stranded wires with or without ferrules up to 6.0 mm² have been given UL approval for 35 A and VDE approval for 41 A. All terminal blocks in the 4200/4210 series are equipped with a double pin for each pole, or also with offset pins for higher voltages. Customer‐specific blocks can be supplied ex‐works. The series are available as standard in BASALT GREY and BLACK, and other - including individual - colours are available on request. The plastic meets the requirements of household appliance standard DIN EN 60335‐1. Examples of use for both types include power supply, transformers or also uninterruptible power supply.

Test probes for the ICT and FT

Interface pin blocks
PTR is adding interface pin blocks to its product range. These additions are the logical result of combining the company's know-how and skills in the development and manufacture of terminal blocks and precision test probes.Interface pin blocks are used wherever a permanent ? but also easily detachable ? connection needs to be created between a stationary and a mobile component. This method is used in PCB technology (board-to-board connection), but also wherever a high-quality connection between components is needed. Typical applications are in mobile communication, audio-video technology, mobile data recording, and the automotive sector.PTR offers the 5322 series with single row (up to 10 poles) and double row (up to 20 poles) versions. Spring-loaded blocks and pad contact blocks are available, and can, on request, be supplied tape-on-reel and with a pick & place pad. Product: Design - Multi Connector
With its new series AKZ4551 PTR offers a functionally designed Multi Connector system with spacing of 3.81 mm. Beside the overall aesthetic appearance the connector housing has integrated recessed grips for easy and convenient handling and fully accessible test connection points.
Another major advantage of this connector is the timesaving Push-In-Technology. Removal of the conductor can be made by simply pressing on the red colour coded levers. Designed to mate with the existing STLZ1550, STLZ1570 and STLZ1590 series of headers they will be available in the new PTR-standard colour "BASALT GREY".
A designed flange version and a version with a 180° turned clamping area is also available. With its new design and technical specifications the AKZ4551 stands out from the products which are currently available on the market: VDE-Value of 160 V, 10 A and UL-Value of 300 V, 10 A will be approved. Cross-section up to 1.5 mm² can be connected.

Product: AK1350 with coding
The PTR multi-connector series AK1350 with spacing 3.5 mm - known for its compact design - is now also available in a version with coding pins "AK1350/..-3.5-GREY-CP".
Normally coding pins are added to terminal blocks as a second manual operation. With this series the coding pins form part of the housing, saving assembly time and providing a solid construction. If shortened or truncated pins are required then PTR can arrange on request.
As with the standard AK1350 this new CP series is available in 2 to 12 poles.

Product: New 16 A - Multi-Connector
Now the reliable PTR multi-connector series 950 is also available in a 16 A version. Wire sizes up to 2.5 mm² can be connected securely with the series. Polarising both blocks and headers are available if required and maybe achieved by inserting the appropriate coding pins.
The headers are available in vertical and horizontal design and in both metric and imperial spacing. Other colours than standard green are also available with and without flange. These features are the same with the new version, the AK(Z)950-HC/ STL(Z)950-HC. With its 16 A the 950-HC-series is ideal for applications that require this higher current.

Product: Solderable Push-in-Terminal Blocks for DIN Rail Enclosures
PTR offers two new solderable terminal block series AKZ4801 and AKZ4841 particularly for use in DIN rail enclosures. Due to the spacing 6.35 mm, higher voltages up to 400 V and currents up to 12 A are possible. Two wires can be connected per potential with the push-in-principle allowing a fast and therefore cost-saving wire-connection. The push buttons - easily operable with standard screw drivers - provide a quick and trouble free method of disconnecting the wires. The test jack on the upper side of the terminal block offers a comfortable voltage tap.
Besides the series AKZ4801 for horizontally mounted printed circuit boards, there is also a terminal block for vertically mounted printed circuit boards: The AKZ4841 is offered in two versions, an orthogonally left aligned and an orthogonally right aligned. All these series are made of a high temperatureresistant material (HT) and therefore can be soldered in Reflow-Soldering- Processes.

Product: Miniature Switching Test Probe for Spacing 2.54 mm - Series 3024
Miniature Switching Test Probe with Easy Replacement System for Spacing 2.54 mm
Switching Test Probes are used for presence test of connectors and periphery at cable trees in the automotive field. PTR now offers the type 3024 with an extreme short mounting length for spacing 2.54 mm.
With its total length of max. 24.5 mm the type 3024 especially was designed for horizontal applications were the installation conditions are limited only.
Like all PTR switching test probes systems also the 3024 is available with an easy replacement design, to replace the test probe without desoldering the wire. This will reduce the times for maintenance.

Terminal Blocks with internal cross connection
The standard "Lamp control gear - Part 1: General and safety requirements" DIN EN 61347-1 imposes the developer higher demands regarding the grounding connection.
PTR now offers a simple, but effective solution: By cross-connecting the earth poles inside the terminal block, the attached lamp can be directly grounded through the terminal block - not taking a loop over the printed circuit board.
The series AK350-BR for wire sizes of 2,5 mm² is available with a two-, three- and four-pole internal cross-connection. For 4 mm² wires PTR delivers the AK700-BR with three-pole internal cross-connection.

Terminal Probes in Trays, Tubes and Tape-on-reel
For assembly of printed circuit boards in automated processes, PTR now offers - additionally to delivery of terminal blocks and pin strips in tape-on-reel - the packaging in tubes or trays. In agreement with the customer form and dimension are chosen perfectly matched to the placement machine or the feeder. Optionally, ESD material can be used. Terminal blocks or pin strips in tape-on-reel or tray can additionally be provided with a pick&place pad.
